I need to upgrade my 1000/10000 equalizer since I purchased a new TT. The Anderson is grabbing my attention, however in viewing profiles in the 27 page thread on Anderson hitches, I am finding very few owners with more than 700lbs of TW. I have about 1,100lbs TW
For those of you with an Anderson, what are your total weight and TW that you are towing.

I don't for sure yet, but I should be in the 675 to 750 range.

I read up on the Anderson hitch. Interesting concept for sure. I would love to hear how those using it feel about it's performance. The other thing about it would be how well it works after several years use as it appears to use a friction priciple in the ball mount to apply the sway control.

I'll have a pretty good idea about short term use after the 21st. It'll be our first pull with the Andersen, a 440 mile round trip up the Shenandoah Valley on I81, up Christenburg Mountain and to the New River Valley.

It's RATING is for 1,400 lb. maximum tongue weight and 14,000 lb. trailer. Sounds like it would handle just about any travel trailer out there. If I didn't TRUST it's rating then probably wouldn't want to trust the hitch itself.

I trust the rating, just wondering how it does in transferring weight. I did speak with a company rep about the weight distribution aspect. He was very honest and told me they didn't have a lot of feedback from users with heavy tongue weights. I believe them when they say it is rated form 1,400. With the setup being a little different than other WD hitches, I'm curious as to how well it transfers heavier loads.

As stated in my original post, I have read through most of the posts on the 27 page thread. I have also looked at the profile of those who have purchased this hitch. Most seam to have TT under 7,500 and less than 700lbs of tongue weight. I am looking for those with larger units who are using this hitch.
I did order today and was told I would have it by Wednesday of next week.

Please come back and give us an update on how the Anderson performs. It is an interesting new design and all of us using a TT could benefit from your report. I am at a loss at how it accomplishes WD but it is good to see that there are new options in integrated systems. I am completely satisfied with my Reese HP Dual Cam system but the Anderson looks so simple it may go on my "options" list the next time I am in the market for one.

leaves me out. I'm at 1450 TW with a full fresh water tank. Even more if the grey/black tanks have stuff in them. Guess I'll stick with my titan Class V reciever with Reese trunnion DC and 1700lb bars.
