1. Watch out for the tail swing in tight areas like service stations.

Not knowing how to disconnect the towed. We pulled into our first campground on our first night at sunset into a grassy sloped site with the towed at an angle. Dumb luck carried us--we landed in the Newmar Fulltimers' Annual Rally! Those kind folks are still helping us, almost two years down the road, and remember us as the ones who didn't know how to unhook the car...

During the walk thru, I took a pad of sticky notes, thinking I could jot down the details as the salesman told me and sticking the note on the item in question.
I turned around at the end of the tour and was darned proud of my work, looked funny, but I thought when I got home I would make a list of details for the future.
Got home and looked back again,it must have snowed during the drive, because the floor was covered with sticky notes.
I don’t need anger management-I just need people to stop pissing me off.

Hmmm...my only thought is that Motorhomes have lots of Bells and Whistles(literally).....nothing is more irritating than driving down the road and all of a sudden a bell, a whistle, a buzzer goes off and you have No idea what, where and why its happening! On your PDI, have your sales person go over such items with you. Other than that, watch those mirrors, watch and know your vehicle height and having an understanding of your 120volt vs. 12volt systems will be helpful. Have a Great time!

Let my wife drive it the last 5 miles home from the dealership. She broke the pass side mirror when she swiped another trucks mirror. Good news was it only cost me $45.

Congradulations. My 3 mistakes. Golly, I have made so many. I am a pioneer of mistakes always making up new ones.
1. Forgot safety pins on load leveling bars.
2. Lowered trailer tongue onto trailer lite/brake cord.
3. Passed up gas station thinking I could make it to the next town figuring on MPg not towing trailer. Learn as you go or better yet learn from our mistakes. That may be their only redeeming value. HAPPY TRAILS

Tail Swing, and the tow'd will go outside your tail swing!
Do not permit others to distract you when setting up in camp or in preparing for departure.
Make sure your spouse can and will drive as much as you. That way you have your emergency driver if you get sick or just want to have a beer at lunch. While I am at it, make sure she knows how to do the Blue jobs and you know how to do the Pink jobs, a wrenched back can be hard to recover from 1,000 miles from home base and it is really helpful that DW can do most of the work of hitching up the car and disconnecting the utilities. I am also well trained in laundry and basic cooking. This is a shared life style, we see too many couples where the DW never appears outdoors until the chairs are set up and the drinks are ready to be brought out.

1. Trusting the dealer.
2. Thinking that the dealer knew something about motorhomes.
3. Buying a motorhome without really knowing what I was buying.
I am ok with it now after years of learning on my own and with the help of this forum....

We have a TT but I think this one still applies:
When you dewinterize, there is a cross-valve and you have to find it and turn all three if you want hot water

Best idea I can think of because of the myrid, of things, to look for is to make friends with someone with a similar unit. They have probably been through the problems and details, of operation already.
Most likely they will be delighted to help a fellow RVer with a new Coach.
Chances are you are going to have a list, of minor, to the Dealer, but not you details and problems to tend to.
There are numerous campgrounds around the state. I saw quite a few Eagles, Traditions etc.
