I forgot to photo and post the sticker that's inside the WFCO cover. It says something to the effect that a code-compliant "energy management system" must be utilized if 5 or more branch circuits are used on a 30A subpanel. Well, I already had 5 branch circuits, and since it said "5 or more" I figured I was covered. I don't know what the NEC says, but it's possible that "more than 5" got translated in Chinese as "5 or more". The unit itself says it's rated at 9 branch cicuits using half-size breakers.

My WFCO 8900 series Power Distribution Center has five full size slots for 120VAC Circuit breakers.

I too am in violation I guess as I have One large full size 30AMP circuit breaker for the main breaker and the remaining four full size slots are filled with half size circuit breakers. That gives me a total of nine circuit breaker circuits...

I guess I am suppose to report myself to the Circuit Breaker Sheriff... My original Power Distribution Center was ONE Circuit breaker and whole bunch of those big YELLOW WIRE NUTS and a big rats nest of wiring behind the old Elixir unit straight from the factory. I would think I am at least 500 percent more safe with the nine circuit breakers.

Did you get boost mode without the pendent and the battery at 12.69?
I doubt you will ever need the pendent as long as you have a voltmeter.

I am up to 7 breakers so far and I will not hesitate to go 9 if the need exists.
Added one for converter and one for the tank heaters.

The NEC code also states that a main panel shall have a main. An exception is if all breakers can be turned off with 6 or fewer through of the hand. The question is, is the breaker in a RV a main panel or a sub panel ?

Well its the main panel for the RV but would be considered a sub panel to the building that the RV is plugged into, right? FWIW, the RV panel does have a main, when you throw the top 30A breaker it kills everything, so sounds like I am compliant with 6 branch circuits.

That is the standard PD answer. If you don't like its automatic mode, keep pressing the button until you like what you see. Aweful automatic charger.

5 is in compliance, not 6.

So it sounds like 5 is the max without a main...in other words you must be able to cut all power with 5 or fewer breaker throws, if you have more than 5 you need a main. Since I have a 30A main, I should be compliant at 6, right? Why do they make the NEC so confusing?
