I know most are not interested in the goings on with Arkansas Football, but as you by now know, Bobby Petrino has been fired as the Head Coach yesterday afternoon.

I will not go into a lengthy explaination, just google Petrino or go to ESPN and get the full story. The incident boiled down to him lying to his boss, having an "inapporiate relationship" with another School employee and making it possible for the young lady (25 years old) to be hired on his staff in a $55,000 a year position, plus sometime in all of this, $20,000 dollars changed hands between Petrino and the young lady.

Finding s quality coach to fill this position at this time of the year is going to be difficult, good luck to AD Jeff Long in this search. AD Long has my respect and backing on his actions in the firing. I guess Petrino showed his true colors in this case.....

Doesn't it amaze you how incredibley stupid people can be? Would it have made a difference if Petrino had come clean at the beginning? I don't know but there's no room in my world for cheaters and liars. Has he ruined his career? Will another school pick him up?

If he can bring home a winning team, moral behavior is negotiable. After all, he's being fired for being stupid enough to get caught, not for being morally bankrupt.

Tuesday night, Arkansas fired Bobby Petrino as their head football coach.

The decision came after it was discovered that Petrino lied to the school about the details of his motorcycle accident last week.

The coach didn't inform Arkansas that his mistress, Jessica Dorrell, was riding with him at the time. Dorrell was hired by Petrino four days before the accident.

Petrino says his focus is now trying to fix his relationship with his family and his wife, Becky

Ya think he just now realized this? Sad sad sad.

Just a bad situation over there in Arkansas! However, he is an excellent football coach. The embarassment and humilation is punishment more than anything the University can dish out! He made a huge mistake and will pay a certain price, just like Jim Tressel. Bags.

I am so sorry this has happened. Arkansas was poised to really make so national excitement this season. Petrino was doing so well and he makes himself look like a chump by lying to the officers investigating the accident and the AD. Sound sort of like what happened to our previous AD, Damon Evans, here at UGA. Both really tossed a great job and salary for a young hottie. Hope it was worth it guys!!

The new coach at Arkansas for the next year is John L. Smith. All I can say about John L. Smith is that he was NOT successful at Michigan State Univ. Every single recruit that Petrino had coming to Arkansas has decommited and now going to another team. His poor judgement has not only hurt his reputation, but is going to set back Arkansas for the next several years! Unfortunately! Bags.

bagman, John L. was hired on a 10 month contract. He was special teams coach here for 3 years prior, he and Petrino go way back. From what I read in our paper today, Michigan State has never held on to a Coach for long, John L. gave them 3 years. The way I understand it, John L. is Head Coach, crosses all the "T"s and dots all of the "I"s, will take care of all the paperwork. ALL of the Asst. Coaches are in place from last year, (except the Defensive Cood. who came from OSU), and will do what they were doing. Gives the AD more time at the end of the year to find a permanent Head Coach.

Where did you get your information that "every single recruit" had de-commited??????????? We have heard of one recruit, maybe.

I went to scout.com and not one recruit was listed for Arkansas! When I saw zero recruits, I assumed that they all changed their mind. I have nothing against Arkansas at all and feel bad for the school and for coach Petrino. Like many other head coaches, he made a big mistake and those kind of mistakes have unwanted effects! Bags...PS: Also NO recruits for Arkansas at rivals.com for the 2013 season.
