We all need an address where all of your mail is sent. If you are spending a lot of time in one location then the park mail box will do just fine. But if you intend to move around what do most folks do?

We rent a mailbox at the UPS Store close to our home. Whenever we feel like looking at whatever mail has come, we call and give them an address and they put it all in a US Postal Service Priority flat rate envelope and we have it in 2 to three days. We do most everything online but there are just some things that don't work well that way... like DMV, real estate and personal property taxes, just to name a few. In Virginia, the fine print at the DMV says that if you don't have a Virginia address, they reserve the right to cancel licenses and, I believe, registrations. Plus... it's just easier (nothing to change) to get the mail at the UPS Store when we're home... which is rare.

This is exactly what we do. it works well. They email me when I have a package and I can go pick it up or have them re-ship it to me.

a mail forwarding service is great. www.myrvmail.com is located in Crestview FL. They are affiliated with the half price camping club Passport America. They offer different plans and have great customer service. You can even read your mail online if you like and they will shred mail, hold mail and forward when you provide a new address. You can even use them as your physical address. They will assist you step-by-step in getting everything set up. Well worth it for worry free mail forwarding.

The box at the UPS Store IS a permanent address. The address is similar to:

Name
2468 Main St. #126
Anytown, VA. 24018

Most just assume it is an apartment, condo or planned community of homes.

And, yes, a PO Box (at the Post Office) works for most things except physical deliveries. And I might add... the USPS forwarding program is expensive... about $16 per week.

We've also used a UPS Store since 2005. They don't do a Change of address if you use an RVPark address any better than a UPS Store.

But, at the very least, it will give you a stationary location for Insurance, Vehicle tags, DL and Voting. Or even taking out a loan, opening a new CC. It's important to have that same long-term address on file for Credit Scores.

We have used Escapees for 16 years and have been extremely happy with them. When we will be in an area for at least 4 days we just email or call them and have it sent to the nearest "small" town post office c/o General Delivery. It usually arrives in 2-3 days via Priority mail. Escapees will give you a "real" address and we've never had problems with their service. Here's a link:
