I would like to thank the folding camper categorry fo the RV.net forum for all the assistance and wisdom passed on to me in my posts. We have sold our Coleman Cheyenne today and have purchase a larger Travel Travel for our family of 6.

I will always have fond memories of our first camper and the wonderful trips we had in it.

Yours truly,

I did the same thing two years and now I am back to a Hard Side P/U.
The gas milage and cost was terrible. 7 mpg(TT) and now 14 mpg(P/U).
Good Luck with your new TT.

Yes, I got 9 MPG bringing my KZ Sportsmen 2505 home compared to 14-15 MPG pulling the Coleman Cheyenne. But 6 people in a pop-up is a little to much to handle. We upgraded the Tow vehicle as well. Bye Bye F-150 King Cab Lariat. Welcome Chevy Suburban.

We too came over from the PUP side. We liked both of the PUPs we owned but needed a TT for the safety of our two little dogs. I could see them getting out of the camper. Enjoy your new TT.

Are you sure you really want to do this - guess it is too late but your gas mileage will suffer greatly haha...

Momabear here is really wanting me to do the same thing. I looked real hard at the end of the camping season last year and actually picked a JAYCO X213 to be my TT trailer. So far I havent bit the bullet yet...

Having solid walls around you is definately a plus...

Getting 20-21MPG pulling my 4200lbs OFF-ROAD POPUP is going to hard to let go. I can also still make it in a McDonalds drive thru as well and order a big Mac at the window.

Congrats on your new TT..

I went back and forth between a pup and a TT several times. Ideally, I'd like to have one of each. I love the "tent" feeling of a pup and you just can't get that from a TT. I have friends that bought a hybrid and I thought that might be the perfect compromise but they have had some problems with leaks and condensation. I have decided that if I can only have one, it will be a TT. Good luck with yours and I bet you'll have little pangs of regret but not bad enough to go back.

Last Season I was offered a permanent structure Trailer (no wheels) in good condition for $1,000 total cost. Boy was I tempted but sanity returned. While it is in where I always camp owning it would have increased my camping basic costs from $1075 a year to about $4,200 or more. Just to much for this old pensioner & besides I love my pop-up!

The way I see it, you trade sleeping room of the pop-up for living space. We normally have just 4 in our pup, but we have slept 8 at a time (4 kids, 4 adults). My parent's 28-foot 5er feels overloaded with just 4 people sleeping in it.

Enjoy the TT and we look forward to seeing you back on the folding trailer category in a few years when kids have gone off to college!
