Is it OK to wash your travel trailer at a car wash???? Can you use the wax and soap and rinse there. My camper has been in storage for around 6 months and is a little dirty. Was wondering if I could stop at a car wash on my first trip out this season.

Thanks

Sure as long as you can fit in the bay with room to work.
I would be VERY careful using the high pressure wand however. These devices can reek havoc with seals, decals and things attached to the sides of your rig...

Maybe wet and soap it down with the spray wand from a safe distance and do most of the cleaning with the brush.

I like to use the pressure wash to get road salt off the frame. RV's don't have the rust proofing that cars have and will rust a lot easier.

Several posters over the years have reported blowing siding off trailer. Personally I would not try it.

I have a feeling the decals would start coming off. There is no need for high pressure wash.

I would not. In addition to potential problems with decals, you stand the chance of forcing water into seams that didn't otherwise have a problem with leaks or causing caulking to loosen. I know washing the trailer is a lot like washing a building.....because it is, but we take that time washing to also have a close-up look at caulking, any loose parts, anything that needs attention that we wouldn't notice just passing by. We do use a long handled soft car wash brush that helps speed things along, but in the end we're happier with the time spent with a big sponge and a bucket of car wash soap.

I bought my pressure washer to wash my RV other things. As a matter of fact I washed it this weekend and all is perfectly fine. Indeed there is no "need" to use a pressure washer. It just make the wash faster. You still need a wash broom to remove the grime. Water alone will not do a good job.

The important thing to remember is to not use it on maximum setting (duh!) and to use it at a decent distance from the surface. That is it. The beauty of using a pressure washer is that by changing the distance to the surface you can easily control the force of the water, meaning you have good pressure when you need it (as in places you don't normally soap down) and a nice soft fan spray when you need that too (e.g. for thorough rinsing).

So to the OP - yes you can use the wand in the car wash. Just make sure you have enough space to get the right distance between the nozzle and the surface being washed.

Might be a little to much pressure for the siding. Decals would be the last concern when the siding separates and the window caulk comes lose. Just my $.02
