I am going to put a second sway control bar on our rig.
My question is :
Can I mix brands, or should I get two new ones so they match. (I mean in function ... NOT appearance )
I can't find the same make as the one I have now. I find different brands, that look the same, but do they all grab the same?
And how particular do I have to be in setting the drag the same on each?
Experience is that which you gain immediately after you actually needed it.
2011 28' Kingsport 28RLS by Gulfstream
2010 Ford F150 Supercrew
We have a valley brand on one side and a bullydog brand on the other. Open Range Jt337 RLS., pulled with a 2010 F150 SC. The trailer nor the truck know that they are different brands, works great !
I canot be convinced that mixing brands would be an issue. Even if you had two of the same brand there would be no way you could determine that the two were equally adjusted to the exact same friction. I wouldn't worry about it.

If I could afford it, I'd get a Hensley, or Pro Pride.
Ah well ... sigh....!
I second what the others are saying.
Just buy another bar and add it to the TT.
Before I went to a more advanced form of sway control I ran two friction bars, they worked pretty good.
I decided not to pay the $20.00 premium to get a "left side" or "drivers side" sway bar.
I just bought a standard sway bar for the passenger side. Took the slide out, unscrewed the "adjustment screw" and flipped the slider bar, adjustment plate, adjustment screw and the on off handle upside down. Saved myself $20.00 and took about 60 seconds to turn my right hand bar to a left hand bar.
Your second bar will take a little of the extra "wiggle" out of the TT, but it will not be a night and day difference.
I went through the progression as well
1) get the hitch set up right- still had a lot of "suck and pull" from passing vehicles
2) Add first friction sway bar- NIGHT and DAY difference, a lot of the "suck and pull" was gone but not all, not even close.
3) Add second friction sway bar- better, very stable, didn't feel like I was fighting when a semi passed.
Now for me I have a number 4)
I bought my add on dual-cam sway control on eBay used and very cheap.
It took some work, but now it is dialed in, all extra "wiggle" is gone, passing vehicles still push, but they push the entire rig, not just the trailer. Vehicle control is simply exceptional with Dual Cam.
I seriously doubt I will ever upgrade to a Hensley or a ProPride, I just don't see the need.
Dual Friction bars will probably work very well for you, they did for me.
Thanks!

In my opinion you can mix and match no problem. The effect is additive since the entire assembly they are attached to is rigid and does not flex. Because of that you also need not worry about equalizing the friction effect between the two. If this were not true then any asymmetric setup (read one-sided, single friction bar) setup would be a problem.
