Found a used 1999 Shamrock 21 hybrid TT. Dealer says it is nice but has a soft floor. Can that be addressed? Or keep looking?

In dealer talk "soft floor" means "OH MY GOD IT'S LEAKING AND THE FLOOR IS ROTTING OUT! But please don't say anything to this guy!"

My first HTT was a 2000 Shamrock 21' and it had a couple issues. Installed a recall kit for the front bunk supports, the twist locks for the bunks kept rusting(had to keep a can of WD-40 handy), and just before we got rid of it in 2005 i found it had a leak by the door. Floor was starting to yellow, i think it was from the awning mounting. Also the front bunk had a minor leak which i sealed with some silicone. Otherwise we liked it, towed great, easy to set up, and it was roomy inside.

Give the dealer your business card and ask him to call you to look at the camper when the floor has been repaired. You'll look at it. No guarantees you'll buy it.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the phone call as this is a very expensive repair!

1999 was the first hybrids from Forest River, the Roo and the Shamrock.
the first few years of hybrids had many growing pains and issues.
R-Vision built the very first hybrid the year before.

so, i agree about running away. unless you're handy, you buy it cheap and are willing to have a project.

Price a new Roo 19 at RVWholesalers. This will give you a price point if nothing else. Many times "local dealers" want nearly as much for a 5 year old camper as you can buy a new one from a high volume dealer.

Lakeview to Lakeview (MN to OH) is a 12 hour drive to be sure, but folks have driven much further and saved thousands of dollars. About $500 in travel expenses. There's also a high volume dealer in Chicago, about half the distance.

Passing on this trailer.

Will continue the search for something similar to a Passport 190EXP, preferable used.

Any suggestions, or models to avoid?

Unless you're prepared to pretty much rebuild the camper, I'd suggest you keep shopping.
