Hello all,
I have a 99 Layton 25 TT. the Roof is very "chalky" and is almost black in some places. I am looking at painting it with Dicor paint. there apears to be 2 different products.. one for a EDPM roof and an elastomeric roof coating. how would I identify what roof I have.

thanks
Craig

If you can tow your trailer, simply tow to any RV Repair place. They will do a visual of the roof and recommend the proper repairing. They repair or sell the proper products for DIY repairs. If NOT a tow-able trailer (like at a seasonal CG site), simply take a few digital pictures and post them. Some folks can identify your roof type from pictures and recommend proper repair method (and products) as well....

If it is chalky with black areas you have an EPDM roof. The other less common RV roof is TPO but it doesn't chalk.

Another less common roof is aluminum, like mine.

Agreed, but didn't think it necessary to mention aluminum, steel, or fiberglass.

Thanks.. I might bring it to one of the local dealers.

Looking on line I guess I need to decide between $200 for the Dicor repaint, or $450 for the materials to replace the roof. I have always been a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"... however at this point the trailer is in really good shape and I would hate to get a leak with mold..
