I am up on the roof all the time and it is still there
IMO, no reason you can't haul the wire ends up to the roof and attach the new junction and the two wires from that and drop the whole thing down . The junction box can dangle in mid air half way down the vent, who cares?
You might get away with that on your RV, but that won't fly on my DF TH, I can barely get my hand into the vent where the wires will come down thru and I don't want the wires touching the heating coil of the reefer, It might let the smoke out, or make more smoke.
There is NO room for anything other than the 4 or 2 wires comning down thru the vent area, without causing more major headaches or a fire.

Yes there is a fairly wide space in the vent in ours down from the top except right at the bottom where you can look up from the outside.
Can you drop a length of "plastic" pipe down the vent from the top with the wires and box in it to act as a conduit so just the two wires come out at the bottom of the pipe where the outside access is to pass them along to the space under the fridge where ?? the controller is ?? beside the converter? That would keep it clear of the coil.
