Could one of you fine people tell me the Weight limit on the new Ticondaroga Bridge? My search skills were not good enought to come up with the numbers. Thanks in advance, Joe

I can't find anything about a weight limit on it. New bridge, why would there be a weight limit.

Looks like a nice and solid bridge.

I am no expert on bridge design but it looks like a modern concrete bridge built to support weights of today's cars and trucks. Our (motorhome) nominal weight is 15 ton, just looking at the photographs I would not think that is a problem. I don't know what your time frame is but if you really want to know contact DOT or maybe the area Chamber of Commerce I am sure they have the numbers somewhere.

Just in case make sure your insurance is paid up and you carry a snap punch to break a window and a life jacket. LOL

Where is the bridge located and what route goes over it? If it's a U.S. or interstate I'd go over it with no hesitation.

In at least one news story on local TV about the new bridge, there were 18-wheelers seen crossing the bridge.

New York State Route 185/Vermont Route 17 (both are state routes, not US or Interstate) and is located in the Town of Crown Point, Essex County, in the State of New York and the Town of Addison, Addison County, in the State of Vermont. It bridges a skinny narrow channel over Lake Champlain.

Crown Point Public Campground, a NYS DEC campground sits at the base of the bridge on the Crown Point, NY side.

Most numbered state highways are part of the national trunk highway system and get Federal funds to help build them up to Federal trunk highway standards, if they were substandard.

I would expect at least the standard weight limit, 40 tons.
