Watch out for REI sales, they sometimes offer a 20% off coupon several times a year. I agree with tplife, the bigger the tent is, the more pain it is to set up and hope for calm nice weather when you have a big tent. I started with a large tent and now prefer smaller tents...when camping less is better, it reduces the amount of time to pack, setup & take down and increases the amount of time you have to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
