I just purchased a sleeping bag for backpacking trip, but now I'm wondering if I should have gotten a long instead of a regular size bag. The bag fits fine, but the extra room certainly wouldn't hurt. Are there any disadvantages to using a long bag?
Not sure if this helps at all, but it's a North Face Cat's Meow bag. I'm about 6'1" and 160 lbs.
I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.
For us when backpacking we like the longer bags. Big reason is on the cool nights we keep our clothing and shoes in the bag so they are not damp and cold in the morning. But morning frost is a problem for us in the western high country all year around. Nothing like putting frozen boots on in the morning.. As tall as you are I would think the long bag might help.
