I've been trying to figure out how to clean the 3" down pipe that extends about 15-18" below release mechanism before it dumps into the black water tank. I don't really want to stick my arm down there. What a crappy job.

Your question prompts me to try it since it hasn't been done in 8 seasons! I'm guessing a toilet brush could be used then immediately bagged and not carried thru the rig to the outside door.

Your question makes me wonder if I should do the same. I'm not sure, but I believe you can find a chimney brush in a 3-4" size. They generally have a screw on fitting for a flexible wand. One wand should do it, then bag it like Dick stated.

Where would you find a chimney brush?

Sometimes toilet paper will hang up somewere down the line (usually at a fitting) I then use a 3" swim noodle and instert as needed to clear the obstruction. It's easy to use and not messy.

I've used my camper twice and noticed the last trip there was some "stuff" stuck on the side of the pipe below the toilet. I used a bathroom cleaner in a spray bottle and put it on "stream" and it provided enough pressure to clean the sides. However, if this hadn't worked my next thought was to unhook the outside water hose and spray the pipe below the toilet flush.

I have never cleaned the pipe and cannot see the need for it except by people that have nothing else to do but worry about every little thing!
