Saw this on the local news as the rescue was going on.

20 personnel involved..........due to a 'stupid' owner.
"In hopes of calming Taz, Huy let the dog off his leash, a mistake the owner admits he will never make again. Frightened by the storm sounds around him, Taz jumped into the rising water".

Glad the dog was rescued but what a waste of time/resources...and endangering of personnel

Rescue dept. should send the owner a bill.

Yes the guy was ate up with stupid in that moment.... and yes he probably needs to be fined for the rescue BUT I still believe it was an amazing rescue effort by those involved. Personally I like happy endings... and often happy endings start out with a dose of stupid.
