I am looking at golf cart batteries and can get one from advanced Auto Parts for about $82. Copying from the spec sheet"
Autocraft Golf Cart 6-Volt Golf Cart/EV Deep-Cycle Service Battery
190AH/156AH
Reserve Capacity: 115 min at 75 Ah m
A couple of questions:
1) Any thought on what is meant by the two amp hour ratings (190AH/156AH)
2) Given these specs, is this a reasonable battery?
3) I realize these wil provide a greater number of cycles than your typical 12 volt deep cycle, however with these specs, can I expect these to provide more power between charges than two Group 31s rated at 130 AH and 200 minutes of reserve capacity each?
220 is the norm for GC220 golf car batteries 20 amp hour rate. Your 31's will start life giving more capacity but this is a troublesome battery due to acid starvation..
Which company manufactured the battery. Avoid it if you cannot determine the origin.
You need two of course, so that is an extra 100. The 190AH size is at the low AH end for 6s. Most of the makers have two main sizes. EG the Deka GC10 with that 190AH. (perhaps the one you are looking at is a rebranded Deka?) The next size up is more in the 220AH range. Exide GC135s have 226AH. Interstates are 232AH for their bigger one (they have smaller ones too)
IMO look for the 220-232AH size at Sam's /Costco for under a $100 as a better deal than the 190AH size.

190AH is likely the 20Hr rate.
156AH is likely the 6Hr or so rate or a 20-25A draw AH rate.
Battery AH capacity is strongly dependent on the discharge current.
And 190AH for a 20Hr rate is on the low side for a typical GC battery, even the lowest capacity GC.
My $.02, look for another battery.

I stole this from somewhere. Some of the battery model names have changed since this was done in 2007, but their specs are the same AFAIK.
EG Exide now calls them GC110 and GC135 based on their RCs. Interstate (US Battery built) 2200s are now GC-XHD-UTL but still have 232AH.

Nothing WRONG with the batteries just not very powerful so you will loose SOME of the benefits of the battery style. If you can get by with that power level then go for it. For about 20 bucks more you can have the best (Trojan T 105).

Best I can find is the T-105 for $135 and the Autocraft is about $82. So I am looking at $50 more per battery. Even at $50 per battery, I am still leaning toward the T-105.
