I am looking for a replacement trailer - fifth wheel - and the last two I looked at had a Dometic refirgerator that had no temperature control thermostat ... had a clip inside that attached to the cooler fins ... so ... anyone got one of those ? how do they work? Any way to adjust the refrig or freezer temp?
Thanks for you information... Tom

We have one and they work fine.
That is the temperature control. Slide up or down to adjust cooler or warmer.
Once you find the temp you don't have to adjust again.

Mine has the clip and supposedly you raise the clip and it lowers the temp, as heat rises. I have yet to see a difference in temp with my thermometer, no matter where I put the fin. I will say that once the fridge reaches cold temp, it keeps everything cold enough on the warmest days.

If you find that the adjustment on the fins doesn't do the job you can get one of these:

Yep slides up and down, however doesnt seem to work great as a thermostat. But the fridge works awesome and wouldn't deter me a bit.

Mine has no adjustment - and hasn't needed one in the 8 years I've had it. Just turn it on and forget about it.
Oh and it does have a thermostat - you just can't adj it.

We were concerned when buying a TT with that fridge, but everything else was EXACTLY what we needed so we bought it. Had it several years and near 9000 miles so far, in Canyonland deserts, and chilly Gaspe peninsula. It was worked great, and we've never adjusted anything. So far, so good.

Love our Dometic with temp adjust on fins. It cools perfectly in whatever weather from +100 degrees days to cold days with temps in the teens.

Ours works just fine. Fiddled with the slider thing, didn't notice any change . No problems, no fix needed.

Thanks for your responses -- sounds like I should not be concerned about this type of refrigerator (I guess Dometic knows what they are doing). ... Tom
