For those of you traveling on I-35 north and haven't stayed at Winstar Casino RV Park, you should check it out. Beautiful new park, paved long pull thrus, full hookups (no cable). No problem getting satellite since no mature trees yet. Several local channels. Sites have picnic tables, grills and trash cans at each site. Pull thrus are dual hookup so you can face either direction. 2 large bath houses with laundries. Pool is currently being built. Speedy efficient check in. Golf course adjacent. Some road noise if you get on the first row, but plenty of spots so if slight road noise bothers you, ask for a spot in the back. If you want to take the shuttle to the casino, ask for a spot near the office. We stayed in spot 100 3 weeks. They do have monthly rates.
If you apply for a Players Club card at the casino, you get one night free and $5 off per night. If you stay 2 or more nights you get free play on one card. Their regular rate is reasonable at $25 per night. With card it is $20 per night current rate. 24 hour security patrols RV park. Also the gas station at exit one had the lowest diesel prices in the area. Walmart in Gainesville TX has cheapest gas prices that we found. Great place to stop for the night or stay and play. as an added note to an excellent posting, WinStar Casino is located within five miles north of the Texas State line on Interstate 35. Plenty of advance signage on the interstate to indicate upcoming presence of casino. Visit the casino lobby, prior to the RV park and apply for the "free" players Club card. Then you will qualify for a $5.00 discount on the first night at the RV park. That will cost you $20.00 for your first visit.
We where there 2 weeks ago, what a wonderful RV Park. it's one of our favorite places. The lady at the desk told us that we might want to think about making reservation for our next visit. We went on a Tuesday and the park was almost full. Please, don't tell everyone about this park. We always take our dingy, but really don't know why, we hardly ever use it. Buses run just about every 15 minutes to the casino and all the hotels. Last year the Windsat was the third largest casino. If they keep building like they have been, next year they'll be the largest in the U.S.
We have stayed there and agree with all the above. There is also a very nice, new RV park at the Choctaw Casino near Durant, OK on US69. We don't gamble but go for the shows. Both Winstar and Choctaw bring in very good talent.
