We are considering going to Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick, Canada this summer and are wondering what all we should see or experience.
We have been through most of western Canada but not these three providences. Can you please suggest some things to see and do?
If we are there in mid May to mid June would we need reservations in campgrounds?
Thanks for your assistance.

A lot depends on your "likes".
We were there last year and particularly enjoyed the Five Islands area, the town of Digby, the Maritime Museum in Halifax, Louisbourg, and the Cabot Trail. So many great places
Take the ferry to PEI. Charlottetown is a gem. We went to the Cavendish Music Festival. Lots of good bike trails on PEI.
In May to late June we did not make reservations more than a day ahead.
Love Canada and Canadians. The main roads are great, but prepare for some roughness if you go on secondary roads.

We are planning the same trip, but probably 2-3 weeks later. Will watch this thread with interest.

Digby Bay is a must see. The tide actually goes out and all the boats drop to the mud and in the morning you can sit outside and watch the tide come in from the distance and slowly refill the bay and float the boats. Digby is also the Scallop capital for Scallops. Doug

Hank Snow was born there. Just look around, it's a nice place to site see, and eat clams in Digby.

There is a toll on the bridge to PEI. The fee is collected going onto the island. No fee is required on the bridge off the island. The ferry is also free if you are already on the island and is worth the time it takes. Ann of Green Gables is a must to see.
When I get back home, near the end of the month, I will take a look at my notes and provide you with some more tourist attractions.

We spent the better part of the first three weeks of June 2008 in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia (mainly Cape Breton for NS). For us the highlights were:
Hopewell Rocks - a great place to experience the Fundy tides
Joggins Fossil Cliffs
Blomidon Provincial Park - Another great place to experience the tides
Celtic Music Center - we attended a Sunday Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-Lee), really great music.
Cape Breton Highlands National park
Fortress Louisborg - A don't miss!
Alexander Graham Bell Historic Site
Highland Village Museum
We went to Digby to get the famous scallops. We must have picked the wrong restaurant, as we had better scallops in Camden Maine on the way up.

Agree with this. The scallops were nothing special, but Digby is such a lovely and relatively unspoiled little town that we enjoyed it. We had a spot in a campgound overlooking the bay, a short walk from town.

We were there last summer and I would add the Ovens Campground and Lunenburg to the list above. The Anglican Church in Lunenburg is an incredible site. The trip is just a great fun trip with lots to see and do. We'd go again. I would also add that you might want to stop at Bar Harbor, ME, and check out Acadia National Park.
