When I bought my Traveler at Camping World 2 years ago they were $1,199, now they are now close $1,400. I guess the Traveler is getting caught up in the price of fuel, "it costs more to get the materials made and shipped to us."

The Wingard Traveler is NOT for use while traveling, just when parked. I have had mine for 3+ years now and would not be without it. Sat TV while traveling is of no use to me. I highly recommend the Wingard Traveler to anyone wanting EXCELLENT sat TV while parked. It automatically raises itself and finds all the sats in short order and the signal is always excellent. Believe me, the wait is well worth it. The price you got from Amazom.com is right on target with what I paid several years ago, so don't worry about it.
I am positive you will really enjoy it. One note, if you have 2 televisions and cabling back to the other television, you will need to go into the menu on the receiver and change the output for the coax connection going out of the receiver from AIR to CABLE to get the signal to the other television. You can find the detailed instructions if you search on JETENBU to find a previous post of mine.
Enjoy......
Thanks you for confirming that I made the right choice. I have a 5th wheel and also have no need to own a dish that will track while I am in motion. I installed a Direct TV dish in my house when I lived in NY and if I remember correctly it took hours to get it set up, the dish is expensive but in my opinion it is worth it for the easy of operation.
I just picked up a 2006 Jayco 28 foot camper. The floor plan will allow me to sit on the sofa or at the dining table and watch TV, then If I want to watch in bed all I have to do is rotate the TV 90 degrees so one YV is enough. But if things change in the future I will remember your advice about setting up two TVs. As a matter of fact I bookmarked your post
I once read that studies have shown that most accidents occurr within 10 miles of home, so I moved

By the way you can use me as an example of what not to do. If anyone is thinking of buying one of these things in the future maybe you should act now.

Correct, that one is cheaper but it only works on DISH network.
I haveDirect TV at home so all I need to do is take one or two of my four D/TV DVRS with me. Using dish would require extra monthly payments and buying another DVR.
So far Amazon is cheaper than Newegg by about a dollar when you add in shipping cost.

I am a it curious if your dish is for Direct TV or DISH network. The Direct TV model is a few hundred dollars more.
I am using D/TV in my camper because I have D/TV in my house, I have D/TT in my house because I like NFL Sunday ticket which is only available with D/TV.
IF I went with DISH I would have to pay two accounts and buy another DVR (unless Dish provides a free DVR)

Make sure you don't take a new-SWM only box. I think the only ones are H25's and H34's, which are pretty new. They will not work with a Trav'ler. I think I have read you can get them to work by installing old-SWM but that means more gizmos to bother with.
