Does anyone know of BLM land or a place to Boon in the area just east of Albuquerque. Looks like we may have to hunker down for a few days and let the weather front go by. Thanks... eyeland
Unless you are headed North from Albuquerque I doubt you'll have any problems. I have seen lots of people use the Walmart on Eubank (just off of I-40 in Albuquerque) for one night. We're supposed to be back in the 70's by Tuesday and the storm looks like it is only going to hit high elevations (above 8500 ft) with snow however it is supposed to be very windy.

Albuquerque is a bit tricky for BLM type of camping as we are surrounded by Indian pueblos. The town of Bernalilllo has a campground with hookups or not - $14-$22/night. Not bad and right next to the Coronado State Monument which has some interesting Pueblo Indian ruins. It is about 7 minutes from I25 on the north end of town.
You could try the Sandia Casino in Albq. Its about 5 miles north of the I-40--I-25 interchange on I-25 In the past they have had a RV Parking area. Free and they have good food and they are more than willing to take your gambling cash::::: Also the weather is more temperate in Albq than on the eastern side of the Sandia mountains

The Hard Rock Casino and resort is just 5 miles south on I 25.
They have a nice rv park, but you can just park in the casino parking lot if you choose.
