What it comes down to in the end is what the guy buying the truck thinks.
Individual perception goes along way here.
I read all the time negative comments about GM interiors, and how superior Ford, and Dodge are. But I drive both Chevy HD and Ford SD trucks 5 days a week. Interior wise neither truck is non-functional. If I were to find any thing to complain about on either is the Ford's poor instrument cluster, and a lack of an oil pressure gauge.
Either way both truck's controls are easy to use.
The main difference I notice in interiors is you seem to ride the Ford Super Duty, whereas it seems you wear the ChevyHD. Neither is a + or -, it is just how I perceive them.

Fiat's implementation of the Cummins HO is very poor IMO. I also believe the Cummins is detuned for fuel economy reasons and the tranny being the weak link.
I know Car and Driver just did a truck comparison, but I wasn't aware of Motor Trend doing this as well. Either way both of these sources does not have much credibility in the HD truck arena IMO.

I would like to hear more about this weak link. Please elaborate if you are able to.

The Cummins uses the Bosch CP3 pump, a proven, durable design. The Ford and Dmax use the Bosch CP4 pump, a hand-grenade with the pin pulled. That's an easy one!

The only "Trend" in Motor Trend" is that they don`t know much about cars/trucks! this is the same magazine that will praise a truck for how well it tows and then condem it for how hard it rides. and the worse part is manuf. will actually listen to these so called "experts" and make the suspension softer and add more cupholders!!!
They can say what they want about the very reliable Cummins, but I would not own a new Powerstroke that will die with a bad tank of diesel.

Mentioned by a few members here was the 68RFE Tranny being the weak point.
I've never heard this before.
I heard that it is as stout as the Allison or the Ford Auto Tranny.

I wouldn't get TOO concerned as it just may not be Dodges Year or not buying enough adds in Motor Trend. Big conflict of interest there. No reason you shouldn't love your Dodge just as much as ever just because someone else does not.

I own the 08 Dodge 6.7 and I've been told or lied to that the Cummins can put out more than it does. I have nothing to support that claim. Has anyone heard the same thing? And one other item of interest Long haul trukers prefer the inline 6 is this true?

All the current Diesel engine offerings are capable of making more power with an AM tune.
