Recently I have noticed that when putting out my front largest slide, once it gets about 80% extended, the top leans out (tilts) and actually makes contact with the top of the opening before the bottom contacts. The motors and drive gears are on the bottom of the slide.
Also, when bringing in the slide, the bottom starts in and then when about 5-6" in, the top will start to move inward, all the while leaning top heavy outward until it is in about 40% of the way. At that point it levels up.
It still goes out and in, just when it was new it stayed level all the way out and in.
Are there tension settings somewhere that need adjusting? Do the rubber seals that rub need replaced?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well I can not tell you why it was one way when new and another way when you watched later. But I can tell you on our motor home that what you describe is what happens. They get a flat floor look by having a indentation or space in the floor for the bottom of the slide to drop into and make the slide floor roughly on the same level as the floor. When it comes in it tilts top up and out as it travels up the incline (top out bottom in). When closed the bottom is pulled up tight against the seals and the top of the slide has to be pulled in maybe ans half to quarter of an inch manually with the factory installed slide locks to get a good seal.
By the way some manufactures tell you to level first and then slide
(our instruction) and others tell you to slide first and then level( mainly Monaco).
You got my attention when you stated "slide tilts when moving???" so I needed to understand moving as in moving down the road or as in moving in and out.

Normal behavior. Part of what maintains the seal, is its own weight. The top of the slide movement (vs the bottom) sounds correct for the position - where the bottom motor snugs the fit and keeps it locked in place.

please clarify
I understand tilt, this would be controlled by support of the slide mechanism underneath the slideand should be looked at and checked for wear or something loose
how ever top and bottom must move at the same instant and at equal speed unless the side wall of the slide has started to separate
Options, always have options, and the journey goes much smoother

Thanks everyone!
Seems like another thing not to worry about.
And yes it was when moving the slide in and out.
Happy Camping!

My slide does exactly what the OP described and it has since day one. When opening the top contacts before the bottom. Like somebody else said, this is to put pressure at the top (since the mechanism is at the bottom) to help keep it sealed.

If you have a slide that ends up at floor level when extended then this is how it does it. Slides on top of the floor and tilts and drops as it reaches full extension and levels out and seals against the insisde of the RV. When coming back it it has to tilt and rise at the same time so it can then slide on top of the floor. Perfectly normal for a drop floor slide.
