We just purchased our first pop up camper. We got a jayco 121207 2005. We are very excited. We are a family of 5 with 3 under the age of six. I am looking for tips on how to set up the inside of the camper. With only a few small cabinets and storage under seats were do you put everything? I would love to hear suggestions!

Not exactly sure what your floor plan is like but this is what we did. We had a Jayco 1006 for 11 years. Ours had a long counter if you will with drawers and cabinets under. I bought all of us clear rubbermaid bins for our clothes, these stacked quite nicely on this counter. In the beginning our kids (2) shared a bed, when they got older our son switched to the dinette. I have to say the lack of storage drove me crazy! Good luck!

Rubber totes are a good friend of pop up campers We stored most stuff in totes and if necessary store them in the tow vehicle. We usually had an extra bed though and most of our totes were kept on that bed. I suspect the lack of storage is one reason for folks deciding to move on up to a hard sided trailer eventually

SIL and DD just bought their second tent trailer. They use a lot of totes for everything. Take some measurements of available floor space when closed up and go to Dollar Tree and but totes in the appropriate sizes to fit. Do the same thing for things to pack into the back of your tow vehicle.

We use six of these Rubermaid ACTION PACKER 24 GAL size for the major storage of things. Two fits perfect under our wrap around seating arrangement. The third one is in the floor area after everything is made ready for travel. The other three action packers is in the bed of the truck. We have stick on lables that identifies the box so you dont have to open each one to tell what is inside. We also have the front deck on our POPUP and I can line up six of these ACTION PACKERS in a roll here as well. We also use alot of the closed lid type clear plastic type containers various sizes.
Just about all of the available open floor space is used for containers when in travel mode. When we get to the camp site the first order of business is to pull out all of the boxes and containers and put them on the picnic table then we can setup the POPUP. The beauty of the action packer containers is they will fit under our OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer and that is where we usually store them when camping.
I can do some serious packing with the front deck of our 14RT OFF-RoAD POPUP along with the truck bed and the storage room in the floor of the POPUP when in travel mode...

Great suggestions everyone! Keep them coming! I do have one questions. Can mice get into the pop up when it is closed down? Can I leave some of this stuff in the camper while it is stored for a few weeks in between trips?

I always have had a screen house which I set up over the picnic table. That's where I keep much of my stuff in 20 gallon waterproof containers.
Much of the time camping I am alone or just with one other so use the larger bed for storage. On my 10x I have a second table which I remove using it outside. The one "sofa" side in that section is my Library, DVD storage ect.
I have never had more than 4 in my unit at one time.

Here are some ideas;

You can also check your local big box store in the closet organizer area. Lots of closet stuff can be adapted for use in pups.
About mice, they can get through a 1/4" crack. Get underneath the pup and seal all openings. If there are large openings stuff some copper scouring pads in the hole and then caulk. They won't chew after they hit the metal.

If you already have mice in the area where the trailer is stored, then take anything that may attract them out. Those little buggers will get anywhere they want to. Got a friend with a cat? Get some cat hair if possible and put it near the wheel wells and tongue. May help some. I put some cat hair out in our garage and it seems to help with the mice.
