Funny, when we moved up to a pop up, even though only an 8 foot box, I was amazed at how much room there was. (Moved up from Car-tent camping) I would put two kids on the dinette, the oldest on an end bunk. Then put all the suit cases or duffle bags along the back wall of that bunk end. I located one steel studs (inline with roof vent) and one at the roof edge, added two aluminum brackets. To these brackets I would slide a cupboard into place. So we kept all our dishes and cups in this overhead cupboard. Removed the cupboard and placed on the floor for traveling.

I LOVE the idea of adding cupboards! I saw the ones on the camping world site and wondered how people attached them.

My cupboard of choice for the PUP is this one from Cabelas.
I am always averse to putting holes in the PUP, so I built little hooks that slide into the channel that holds the door up to the ceiling when it is stored, and hang it from there. You can certainly put hooks into the ceiling, or use braces as mentioned.

Not my camper, but here's exactly the thing in action

I noticed they attached the dowel rod to hangers anchored into the steel roof brace, which is your best bet. I have other things that hang from just two anchor bolts in the ceiling metal. Something like these, but the bolts in this image are way too long.

WARNING!
The metal inside ceiling is extremely fragile and lightweight. It will not support something hanging from it full of canned goods, etc. In mine, it is only thin aluminum, so make sure you use appropriate fasteners and load the cupboard with light items.

This space left intentionally.

Our cupboard hangs from a cargo bar. Since we have hard walls the cargo bar goes between the walls, is used to hang whatever we wish, and also pushes the walls tight against the gaskets. I don't know if a cargo bar would work for you.

The metal studs in line with the roof vent are there to support the weight of a 13,500 BTU air conditioner so I think a cupboard should not pose an issue.

The best 5 bucks I spent on our PUP was a plastic shoe racks at Target. They're the clear plastic kind thats suppose to go over the door. I just hung it at the edge of the bed near the door. Keys, sunglasses, sunscreen...... all go in there. The clear plastic allows you to find it all later. Helps keep the clutter off the table and counter. At the end of the weekend, we would leave the stuff that stays in the PUP in it, fold it up and pack it away.

We just traded our second tent trailer in on a travel trailer, after 18years of them. My wife and I were shocked at just how much stuff we had in it. Use the floor, you can fill that up to the slides. We never used totes, wastes space. Our first one was Bonair 700,a 7' box.Two boys and a Lab.Into the Cherokee we put the main cooler and the clothes duffle bags. Bag everything, dust was the biggest problem.A lot of people pull the water tank and use that space.

Totes are a PUP users best friend. We kept all of our food either in the fridge or in totes on the counter, clothes in suitcases on the opposite bunk and two coolers with beverages outside under the awning.

Pots and pans under one dinette seat and extra bedding under the other. Small cabinet under the sink is where we kept paper plates and plastic cups.

anything else was kept in the bed of my pick up under the tonneau cover. (easy up, tool box, firewood, golf clubs etc,)
