I need all that data constantly read out to me as badly as a 2lb box of 10 penny nails on the highway. I DRIVE my coach...I dont act like Im flying a jet liner
I think you can manage to DRIVE your coach even with a lot of information available.
I like the speedometer on the VMSpc better than the coach gauge. It's nice to have the mpg available. The gauges I have for the most part are more accurate on the VMSpc than the dash gauges.
Just curious, do you ignore all of your gauges or just a few?
And before you ask, some of the gauges are there just for my amusement. It's kind of neat to see the engine load when you are going uphill and it's nice to keep a record of daily mileage, driving hours, miles, and mpg for each day, for the trip, and for the lifetime of the coach.
There seems to be a bug in the ScanGauge D. Myself and another fellow both with C-7 Cat 350's are having eratic readings on the MPG and the instant MPG readouts. He has contacted them and they have a fix for it they tell him. I called them this afternoon and the owner/developer was out of town but they were very nice and said they would get back to me tomorrow. It is unknown to me what engine systems are involved but it sounds like they have it under control.

Did you park your MH until your scangauge mph gal readout was corrected?
I just installed a ScanGauge D in my 3126 Cat powered Safari coach.
I had a few problems to overcome before I could even connect the cord.
The included ScanGauge plug would NOT fit either of my two Deutsch 6 pin J1708 diagnostic ports...(both my dash and service bay diagnostic ports are similar to, but very different than, the one for which the plug is designed and manufactured).
I had to modify the supplied 6 pin plug to make it fit.
That modification involved removing, (cutting and scrapping out), ALL of the plastic "keys" from the inside of the outer ring of the J1708 end of the plug, (leaving that end of the plug with only the outer ring and the 6 plastic center pins)....(only four are used, two are blank/empty).
That made it possible for me to install the plug onto my diagnostic ports, however, NO ELECTRICAL CONTACT was established between the port pins and the plug.... because the female connecters in the pins of the ScanGauge plug are larger than the male connectors in the diagnostic plugs of my coach.
To establish secure electrical contact, between the 4 oversize female connectors in the plastic pins of the plug and the 4 small male pins in my diagnostic port, I had to modify each female connector socket in the plug.
After I finally got the ScanGauge D installed, connected and working, I found that none of my settings into the ScanGauge D , (fuel capacity, color change, chosen gauges, etc.), remained saved if/when/after my ignition key was turned OFF.
Each time the key was turned OFF and back ON the screen returned to "home" and all settings, (except those in the "flash memory"), returned to their default readings.
To prevent that from happening every time I turned the engine off, it was necessary for me to REWIRE my diagnostic port so that the 12V power at terminal "C" is always hot, regardless of the ignition key position.
As I said.......NOT EXACTLY PLUG & PLAY!
Am I the only person that had problems connecting a ScanGauge D to my coach?
Now that the ScanGauge D is finally working, I find that the boost gauge is reading double that of my dash boost gauge, (over 50 psi when accelerating).
The MPH, RPM, Throttle Position Sensor, Water Temp, Battery Voltage and Intake Air Temp gauges seem to be working as they should, (they appear to be accurate).
I have not yet driven the coach any distance so I have had no opportunity to use/check the trip functions or the many other functions of the ScanGauge D.
I also like the way the SilverLeaf works. It gives me all the info I need with ACCURATE numbers, especially the Allison temp and oil pressure. My coach has the older Allison keypad and doesn't display what gear I'm in, but the Silverleaf does. I actually get better mileage by driving with my Silverleaf and find it helps when climbing hills. I can quickly look at what gear I'm in and what RPM. I also watch the instant MPG as I drive and make adjustments. I don't even move my coach without the Silverleaf running. It has both visual and audible alarms for every gauge. The Rolling Horse Power and Rolling Torque are fun to watch.

WHAT does that have to do with the subject of this thread???
As you can see, THE SUBJECT of this thread is: "FINALLY, SCANGAUGE D FOR DIESELS".... the subject is NOT SilverLeaf, (or whatever else you happen to want to talk about).
Hijacking a thread is not proper.... (a new thread is in order anytime one changes the subject)!

Mine was pretty much "plug and play" for my RV but my end result seems to be similar to yours. All my readings seem to be fine and I enjoy the unit so far, but the one thing I have noticed is that my turbo boost reading is double. It reads .1 at idle but is double the dash gauge when accelerating or cruising. If my dash gauge is reading 17 at cruising speed, then Scangauge will say 34 on the digital readout or 30psi at hard throttle will read almost 60psi on Scangauge. I have not contacted Scangauge about it as I am not too worried about it, but would now be curious if this is common with the Scangauge D.
