I am needing a new dishwasher and range for my sticks and brick this summer. I scanned thru the Made in America post but did not see any major appliances. I want to buy American but don't know which ones are still being made here. Any one know?

NONE are made in the USA.....a few are assembled in America with 95% foreign made parts. Very few things, with 51% or more American made parts exist. That is why I quit looking for "Made in America" labels, because it is very seldom true.

I came across this company in a country life magazine. I don't remember which one.
Elmira Stove Works.
The factory tour site says over 90% of parts are produced and sourced from North America which means?
They are antique designs or designs from the fifties etc with either electric or gas and they even make wood fired from their beginning days.

Whirlpool Corp is still making something in Tulsa, and they just opened a new plant in Tennessee. I suspect they are still manufacturing in Michigan, too.

Brands include Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, Roper. My Kenmore washer and range were also made in the U.S. by Whirlpool, but those relationships may have changed.

Whirlpool is a global corporation, with global manufacturing and sales, so where it was made will depend on brand and model. If you buy a product for which the primary market is Asia, it will likely be imported in the U.S. If you buy a product used only in N. America, it will likely be made in N. America.

Almost nothing manufactured is made wholly in the U.S.

Elmira Stove Works is a Canadian company in Ontario, does that make a difference?
This is a really small town really close to where our son & family live in Ontario. I had no idea they had such a factory there- good for them.
