just to make it clear up front, we are lifetime members of Good Sam, have their roadside service coverage, extended warranty, emergency care, Flying J card, and a few other things that have been taken out and added to for 10 years or so .... we've been President's Club members for 10 years and have made many expensive purchases from them (such as a roof mounted satellite system and a washer with separate dryer) .... we have been members of two different Good Sam clubs .... in short, we have no axe to grind with Good Sam or Camping World .... while we have no desire to cancel any of our individual programs, our camping club has dropped any affiliation with the national Good Sam organization .... we are the second chapter that we know of that has done so within the last few months .... that decision was made for several reasons .... for one, we couldn't find a single benefit in being a Good Sam chapter that we don't have as an individual members .... in addition, as a club we are no longer bound by outside rules, nor do we have to pay dues to to the national organization .... just wondering if any other members of Good Sam chapters have considered making such a change or if there are benefits out there that we have overlooked
I have never found a local chapter. I sent emails and phone calls and never have been contacted. Finally I found a friend and his wife that camp and we are having a blast. As you said no dues and no rules.
