Today I picked up a one year old Honda EU3000IS generator for $1450.00. Still a lot of $$$ but much cheaper than new. According to the seller it only had 3 tanks of fuel run through it in the one year that he owned it. From the looks of the unit it must be true, it easily is a 9.5 out of 10. Electric start and uber quiet. I plugged it into my Avion TC and it had no problem running my 11000 btu AC. I am very happy.

Good for you. And so many people are afraid to use CL because of scammers. I buy and sell there a lot; never had a problem, but I am cautious.

Good find, I paid several hundred more for my unit new. I would have loved to find one gently used on cl. You are going to love how it just sips fuel too!

I've had some pretty good craigslist finds myself. Scored a honda 2000i last year for $350. Was in almost as new condition. Love craigslist.

I tried to find one 3 years ago all i got was no returned e mails/phone calls and the one who responded said it sold as soon as it was posted.Gave up on CL.
Ended up finding one on another board for 1300.Wasnt as new as you described but been a great unit i did have to get starter gear fixed though one month after i got it but been solid since.My brother in law found an almost new one for 1300 on CL though 2 years ago

We have a good number od beach goin pals who have the 3000's mounted and chained on front racks (Cooler Racks which we use for fishing rods and coolers) You can hardly hear the gensets running, it is an excellent system for truck camper use, some have run a semi-permanent cable from the rack to the shore power wire enclousure.

Congrats on the score! I love my Honda too, but I find that I'm using it less and less as time goes by now that I've gone solar.

I have had good luck on Craigslist to date knock on wood. I was a little nervous meeting a total stranger with $1450.00 in my pocket but we met at a public place ( gas station ). Last year I scored a 13 foot Boston Whaler boat with a new galvanized trailer and a running Johnson 30 hp outboard for $600.00 total ! Deals are out there but you have to know what you are looking for and jump with cash in hand. But NEVER let the excitement of a good deal cloud your thinking when it comes to common sense. Be smart and safe.
