I am having problems with the left side of the Dometic Weather Pro 2004 awning. It doesn't want to open on that side always. I brought it into Camping world for repair and it works worse than before I had them touch it. I was wondering if it could be the spring piston. I would appreciate any help in this matter. I am not happy with Camping world.

IF the arms are sprung (common problem on the original Weatherpro arms, they redesigned them after this type problem), and you have the original type, then the only fix is to replace both arms as a set. Once "sprung" there is no fix. Doug

What I heard from Camping World is they don't make arms for this awning anymore. I was hoping I could just replace the pistons and they would be fine. Camping world has been my only source of information for this problem.. I must look for a new source or fix it my self.

They make the NEW style arms for your Weatherpro, but you may have to replace the Motor assbly also. It has been a few years since I have retrofitted one and will confirm with Dometic on Monday. Doug

I found the part number on the carefree web page. Then googled that part number. Don't remember where I got the shock. I do remember there were several suppliers.
