On my maiden voyage, I filled the fresh water tank and tested the water pump for the first time. Everything worked as I would expect. A few hours later I opened a faucet, and the pump was noisier and the faucet flow was pulsing. After closing the faucet I could hear water trickling into one of the tanks for maybe 10-15 seconds. Does anybody have any idea what is going on and what I should look for?

Opening a faucet all the way will usually make the pump run at a steady speed. Opening it only part way. Causes water pressure to rise and fall. Making the pump surge up and down in speed.
Yes depending where pump is mounted. They can be very loud.

I'm having the same problem at our bath sink, even if both lever are opened.
Pump has been replaced, same model as the old one. First I was thinking was just the new pump working better.
What about this idea.
Our old GBM had a pressure tank under the sink, a real small one like used for your house water systems, so it would have to drain down some pressure before the pump would come on.
If there was enough room somewhere, would this be a good idea to solve the off & on pump problem.
In a sence what is happening, like with a water pump & well at your house, when the bladder goes in that pressure tank, the water pump cycles off & on fast as the water pressure drops & builds back up.
On a house system though, a pump cycling like that, will burn up the contact switch real soon from clicking on & off so much.

Had the same problem, the pump would cycle quickly when kitchen all-in-one faucet was openned fully. Determined that the faucet had several restrictors in the hose, one in the hose base and one in the head. Removed the one in the base and problem solved. I think that the faucet could not pass the water fast enough due to the double restrictions, so the pump was building pressure, turning off, the pressure would drop due to the faucet being open, then the pump would restart. The faucet, with the one restrictor removed, allowed the pump to run below the pressure switch setting until the water was turned off..the pump would then build up pressure and cycle off. Just my two cents...

Very likely, "this" portion of your question is simply the water from the sink working it's way down the plumbing, to the grey water tank, which is not abnormal.
See ya out there!!

If you are camping without electric hook ups, I've found that as the battery become a little lower noise from the water pump actually increases and becomes harsher. Not your problem though if you're camping with electric hook ups. Excessive noise can be caused by a pump being either too loose or too tight or it's possible that something may be positioned against the water pump. I had a trailer that had a stereo speaker that was improperly installed and was right up against the pump which then amplified the pump noise.

Thanks everyone. It sounds like the dealer wasn't feeding me a line when he said that there's no air bladder, leaving the pump to cycle a lot depending on flow and the amount of tubing. I played around this morning and confirmed that a small faucet flow gives it fits, but it was fine when flushing the toilet.
ClayL, it looks like my pump has an adjustment on it. Didn't have time to try it before breaking camp. Thanks for the tip.
