We lost our warrior this week. Linger was one of the all-time great cats. He did what he wanted to do, when he wanted to do it and little could be done to change that.
His long silky hair could hold a phenomanal amount of dirt, leaves, pollen clusters and other non-household friendly stuff. He often would decorate himself buy rolling in the leaves and grass cutting immediately prior to coming in.
He would saunter over for his early morning greeting and love time when I would first walk the dogs. He wanted to be picked up and cuddled and scratched. He took to laying his head on my shoulder and just enjoy. But just for a while and then he would want down to go back to his place.
Theologians and clergy argue if our pets go to heaven when they die. I don't think they do. I think God put pets here on Earth to make us better people. I know that my Ling-Ling made me better. Rest In Peace.

We are very sorry for your lose.
We believe that our pets go across the "Rainbow Bridge", to a sort of Heaven for them......and that we will eventually join them.
A very interesting book that I just read (actually, I listened to it on CD while driving to work) was A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron. He touches on the lives of a dog, much the way that you seemed to feel that your cat was there to make your life better.....and that while you may have lost this particular body of a cat, if you keep your heart open, there will be another (maybe even a reincarnation of Ling-Ling) that will enter you heart....and life.
I realize that this book is about a dog, but I feel that it can be very similar for any pets we have....

That was touching, thank you for it. Ling ling sounds a lot like our furry friend. I tell people when I met my wife I inherited a neurotic dog and a cat with an attitude.
Sorry to hear you lost your Ling-Ling. Our fur babies are a gift and placed in our lives when we need them (whether we know it or not), and we should cherish the time we are allowed to have them with us.

I agree 110%... we are here to make the world a better place and our pets are here to help do that. RIP Ling
