Cherry Hill is a great solution. The Metro buses come to the campground office area on a regular basis.

We park our 25" class C in front of the Air and Space museum. We have a handicap hang tag and park in the handicap spaces but there are also many regular spaces. The street is signed - No Parking 1-10:00 AM Mon-Fri 3 Hour Limit All Other Times. The museums open at 10:00 and the spaces fill fast. We try to get there just a little before 10:00 on weekdays and around 9:00 on weekends when there aren't any restrictions.

Are you referring to the Museum at Dulles Airport?

No wonder we have a fear of metro lots - that is the one we use - we just take a bus to get there.

I agree with the Cherry Hill idea - RV would be safe there.

ditto for Cherry Hill RV Park. Take the bus to the train, the train into DC and then the trolley around town. expensive but so worth it.

Tell them to stay at Cherry Hill RV park, and take the public transit into DC. No way I would drive in there, even in a toad, much less a RV.

Went to DC area for work a couple of years ago. The view of the freeway with the million cars heading into and out of town from my 12th floor hotel window was enough to convince me to stick with the Metro and not ever try driving in the city.

Cherry Hill is nice and if the Metro bus goes there, bonus, but I looked at it a month ago and it is expensive to stay there. I'm military and was quoted $56/day. They directed me away to cheaper places since I am long term parking. I guess if you're here to sightsee for a couple days, it would be worth the cost and a decent location.
