As we stated, we left Thursday for a long weekend outing with friends. Uneventful trip and setup, filled the water tank before we left. We ran off the water tank at first, till we hear BRRRRRR, a few minutes later...BRRRRRRR, what the heck? Get the tools out, pull the cover off the watertank/waterpump locker. HOLY CRAP!!!!! the inside of the locker is soaked, and I notice a steady drip coming from the nose of the pump at the preasure shut off valve. Trip to home depot and make a plug for the pump to system line and a cap for the pump output. We were in a park so we had city water to use......crisis averted......then the horrid rain/wind storm came.

When it first hit we were out running around doing some shopping for the camper. Just regular rain nothing special. we stopped by Taco Bell to get some lunch, it was raining pretty hard, a little lull and we ran for the door.......thats when it got interesting. As soon as we got inside the door a microburst hit, took everything we had to hold the door closed. Trees were getting ripped apart and thrown in every direction, at that moment I remembered that the awning was out on the TC.....not good. The campground was a few miles away, so maybe it will be ok. Driving back to the CG my wife kept noticing alot of trees torn up or down. Pull in the CG and things dont look to bad, a little debris, but not bad. Get back to our spot and the TC and truck are just fine. I have to chase a leak from the roof that gets into the closet, I'm thinkin the tank vent that runs up the back corner, we found that this morning while breaking down to leave for home.

All in all a fun trip with friends, with a few mishaps, and I'm not gunna be drink Margaritas anytime soon......

whats a trip without something going wrong? sounds like it was a great test to check for leaks. hopefully its an easy fix. heck, it should be easy after all the work you have done to that thing.

So what you are saying is a normal trip

We have run into a lot of things like this, best thing to do is to use it as a learning experience.

We are on an "up to 1 yr journey"--I word it like that on purpose, whatever comes first, 365 days or 0 balance in the RV checkbook. It really is an insanity prevention strategy for us.

Pretty normal.......except for the microburst, that was a first. We are camping this weekend too, will fix the waterpump issue when we get back. We will be in Barstow.....or Calico is closer to the mark. KOA by the ghost town for IH Western Regionals

I'll bet its some cracked caulk around the vent from the wierd winds we got. 2 spots over, the wind ripped 6" branches off the tree and almost took out the 5er that was there.

Last year in the Keys our RV park was hit by a waterspout. We lost two chairs and a cooler. 4 RVs were badly damaged. We were out in the boat fishing thank God.
