This sort of reminds of the episode of WKRP Cincinnati (anyone that old to remember this show)? Anyway, for a Thanksgiving publicity stunt, they hovered over a parking lot in a helicopter and dropped live turkeys to the crowd below, not realizing turkeys can't fly.

My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

I captured a wild turkey in the windshield of my pickup many years ago. One would think that a sloped windshield would bounce one off, but no such luck. It was hard to see where the shoulder was to pull over.

Funny that I should log on today and see this. I also didn't know Turkeys could fly and I almost hit one today myself. I was in my pickup but the Turkey flew right across my hood. It was a very large bird. Seeing your story I'm glad I didn't hit it. I had always been told they could fly short hops like to get up into trees, but this one was moving pretty good in level flight. Didn't even look like he tried to change course to avoid me.

Domesticated turkeys can't fly very well. Wild Turkeys can fly just fine.

Had a co-worker leave work afternoon. Got a couple miles from the office when a turkey flew right up into his windshield. It went right through the passenger side and inbedded all the way at the back window of his Buick Lesabre! He came back into the parking lot at work and we couldn't believe our eyes!!!
Sure glad you and your wife were not hurt to speak of!!

Wow, amazing! Glad that the both of you weren't hurt!

There is another RV.net member that had this happen to his class-A and he posted pics too.

Our exit door will not open until the air brakes are released as we have a seal around the door that fills with air. I guess we could toss it out a window!
