This is my first post to this forum and I am looking into buying a Toy Hauler in the near future. Originally I was planning on selling my Chevy Tahoe and buying either a Chevy 2500HD, gas or diesel pending on what size camper we were going to buy. But this weekend I found a great deal on a 2010 30' bumper pull Wolfpack Toy hauler, but my question is will I be able to pull it my '07 Chevy Tahoe?? The GVWR for the camper is around 5,800 and my Tahoe GVWR is 7,200. Figuring on the average I will be hauling 2 4 wheelers (1,000 lbs total) along with cloths and food. I figure I would be maxing out the limit on my truck. I live and travel around south LA and SE TX so altitude and mountains are not in question.. Finacially it would be alot cheaper to keep my Tahoe since its paid for and find a camper that I'm able to pull. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? You can pull it but it will feel like your driving on ice. Real ugly! My suggestion, get a bigger rig if you want to tow a camper of any size.

Toyhaulers are notoriously heavier than their stated factory or brochure numbers with a 30' rig easily able to to weigh 10K lbs. when fully loaded. Would be quite a handful for the tow vehicle in question even if traversing mostly flat roads, but ultimately, it is your call to make. Happy Camping!!!

I owned a 30' toyhauler, no way is a Tahoe going to pull that.
My F250 with the diesel got a work out towing that trailer.
Step up to a real truck to tow something like that.

That's gooing to be really rough, creed. I wouldn't do it.
I have a 30' and I couldn't tow it with less truck. There's no way I could stop it.

Its actually a 27', 30' overall and the guy who owns it now pulls it with a half ton dodge. But if I do upgrage to a bigger truck I will look into a 5th wheel instead of a bumper pull.

I have a FS2600 weekend warrior no way would even hook to a tahoe. Maybe the wolfpack isn't but mine it extremely tongue heavy.

Thanks for all ya'lls advice and expertise. I may look into a smaller pop up type toy hauler for the time being, kinda of a starter camper, lol.. If / when we do decide to go with a larger camper I will definitly look into a 3/4T diesel.
Thanks again.

+1 on no way on the Hoe pulling that trailer.
My 21' was a workout for my 1/2-ton GM truck (almost 6k before toys). I stepped up in truck size...

Good call Creed. Camped near a guy one weekend, pulled in real late with his Tahoe and Raptor bumper pull. Next day as I talked to him he said the drive was harrowing, long and slow. When he left Sunday he'd arranged to leave the Raptor and come back and pick it up later with a work truck.
