We are in the market for a new 5th wheel with plans to start fulltiming next year. We want to start this adventure with a fresh unit.

We have a lot of experience with Mobile Suites and have been very pleased with them. I wouldn’t mind owning another but the Mrs would like to try something different. While camping last week a beautiful Heartland Landmark with full body paint pulled in next to us. Impressive appearance. My wife visited the Landmark website and got hooked on the San Antonio floorplan.

For me it takes more than flashy outer skin. I’m more concerned with build quality and durability. I’m seeking inputs from actual Landmark owners and your experience with the brand.

I see they have a 12” frame (our Mobile Suites utilized a 15” frame). Has that been an issue? Any nagging problems that you can’t get fixed? Best place to purchase? We don’t mind traveling for a good deal.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

We used to belong to the Heartland forum, but when they changed something a couple of years ago, I got locked out.

We've been parked by a few. What I notice the most while walking by, the Suite is 101" wide and the Heartland is only 96". And of course, their sidewall R-value is only R-9 vs R-16.

But they sure are pretty on the outside.

We have a 2012 Landmark San Antonio and so farwe have had no issues. We have had about 3 months now. We do have some friends with a 2009 M/S and are very jealous of our new rig. If you have any other question please PM me and I will answer as best I can.

We don't have a Landmark but do have a Heartland product. The Landmark has a two-year warranty as a full-time rig. I can add that our experience with the company has been stellar. We are very happy with the product and Heartland's customer service.

Best Wishes!

I have owned for about 3 weeks a 2013 Landmark Grand Canyon. We have owned 2 Jayco's and 3 Montana's before this one. I have used it one weekend and so far so good. We have friends that have a 2012 Mobile Suite and they like ours better. We have the Chocolate Full Body Paint and they are Beautiful. The Customer Service has been great as well. We have a steep driveway and I talked to the Heartland Rep. at the Factory about leaving the ladder off of the rear and that was not problem at all for them.

We have had our Landmark since Nov 2010.Very pleased with it have had some minor issues nothing nothing that stopped use of camper .We have used it for about 11 months full body paint is still good and easier to care for than plain gel coat and no decals.Check out owners web site and Heartland web as they have changed warranty on Landmark. If I was in market for new Landmark would be first consideration but would look at all in same class.

I recently purchased a used Landmark on a private sale. The research I did lead me to a Heartland product. Although I haven't used it on a trip yet I have used the Heartland service department 3 or 4 times already and got excellent service. I emailed a question one evening and got a phone call the next afternoon. If you notice on the Heartland forum a lot of folks mention the excellent service they provide. Customer service and an excellent product equals Heartland.

Thanks for all the replies. We've been doing a great deal of research on Heartland and other high- end 5th wheels. Also looking at motor homes but I'm just not convinced they hold any advantage over a 5'er.

Heartland continues to keep my attention. We have shifted our choice from the San Antonio to the Key Largo.
