I'll be interested to know how it works for you. The Paleo diet is the diet du jour. It's pretty much the way I eat, anyway, except I like my coffee. I've never been a starch lover.

One of the things that has ticked me off about the diet my wife and I are on is that the couple times I've been willing to cheat, the old food doesn't taste the same to me, plus I get stomach aches now when I cheat. That hasn't been true of all the forbidden foods but definitely some of them.

I'm on a different severely restricted diet. Aquafina is the best tasting water out there. I know, water is all I can drink.

It is amazing when getting the right food you not only lose weight but a lot healthier.

In my 70s and lost 60 pounds and sure don't want to put it back on again. I try to stay away from the starches, pasta, bread, crackers, rice. I agree though, coffee is one of the hardest to stay away from for me. I not only had high blood pressure but borderline type 2 diabetic, and high cholesterol and triglycerides. Sugar is one of the big NOs for me. Losing that weight has helped bring everything back to normal levels.

Wish you good luck and hope you can find what you can and can not eat.

I have to force myself to drink water. There is a limit though. Water can flush potassium from your body and can cause some problems unless you are on a potassium supplement.

Same here. Since I've been eating healthy once in a blue moon, say 2 to 3 times a year I'll hit McDonald's or Taco Bell and get something because I have a taste for it. It doesn't taste as good as it used to and within an hour I feel bloated, not gassy, just stuffed and overly full. I only ate 2 McDoubles, that's it. I'd rather stop at Subway and get a salad if I'm out and can't eat what I need to eat. It's just easier on the system.

I don't like to drink water either, so what my hubby and I drink every day is the flavored seltzer water. Canada Dry makes some and we drink one called LaCroix. I think there's also one called Syfo. No sugar, artificial anything or calories. Just carbonated water and natural flavors. We love it! Try it!

I have had fibromyalgia since 1988 when they were just learning about it. Frankly, they haven't made huge strides since then either.

I also have a little bit high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol and triglycerides. ALL of which are under control with medication.

The single best thing I ever learned with fibro was to eat meat first. Carbs digest quicker and if your stomach has meat which takes longer to digest in it first, it slows down the "sugar shot" you can get from carbs.

One dietitian at the hospital told me this. I tried it and it made a HUGE difference to me. The doctor pooh poohed it. But I said, "Hey it works for me and it doesn't hurt anything so I'm doing it". And I still do.

So,whats wrong with caffine free coffee and iced tea? Most stores have their own brand of decaff tea bags and we can't tell a difference. I don't drink many sodas but when I do its caffine free diet coke, much caffine and my heart is racing and I'm flying, can't handle that! DH has brain cancer and chemo has caused high blood pressure so he is on low sodium, never thought I'd miss boxed mac & cheese and Hamburger Helper! We are eating good, but it takes a lot longer to prepare a meal and I still sneak a dash or two of salt on some of my food. Good luck on your new food plan-"DIET" is a dirty four letter word! lol

My husband did not drink enough so we buy the little packs of lemonade mix that you add to a bottle of water. We keep some cold in the refrigerator all of the time.
And there are non caffenine teas. I am not saying they are good.
Good luck on your diet, I have been GF for over 30 years.
