I am taking my grandson to Ohio this week and I need to keep him entertained with DVD's. How do I run the TV and DVD Player while driving down the road. Neither will come on.

You need 120 volt AC. Can get with generator, or from an inverter which converts 12 dc to 120 volt AC. Or, buy a portable DVD player. How about he looks out the window at scenery ?

Thank you for the info. He does look out the windows, but with two days of travel he gets bored just sitting. This will be the first trip for him in the Roadtrek, so he may enjoy the scenery from the wide open windows.

18 hours of staring out the window? I could understand books, or something, but 18 hours of mind-numbing scenery?
Seriously?

The easiest way would be to get a portable DVD player, if one doesn't want to put it onto 120VAC + inverter.

I have one of these. Kind of expensive but great to have. I run my TV off this.

Your 2010 Roadtrek has an inverter. Switch that on and your coach TV and the entertainment center/DVD player should come on. First turn on your Battery Disconnect switch (this must be on). Try this first with the motor running but without the van in gear. It should come on. Then put the van in gear and make sure that they stay on. I don't think that Roadtrek has installed a cutoff to the TV if the van is in gear. I know that others use the Roadtrek entertainment center while driving so the TV should work also.
Also if you have a generator in your Roadtrek, you could use that also to power the TV and entertainment center while driving. There is no problem running the generator while driving. Make sure you have propane in your tank as the Sprinter generator runs on propane.
Enjoy your trip with your grandson!

Hours and even days of travel being entertained by looking out the window were a _lot_ less boring back 'in the day'. The roads ran thru non-sterile countryside, towns, and cities with things to look at and marvel over and wonder about. Real gas stations & restaurants, mostly different.
Typical interstate travel that way as a kid these days would blow great big chunks. Medians, trees, an occasional interchange, travel centers.... Great for making time and safety, little to no entertainment value.
Reads the van's manual, find the inverter. The power to run it will be essentially 'free' when the engine's running. If you lack a manual, it's probably downloadable from the Roadtrek website. Or to use a laptop for hours playing DVD's on the move, buy a cheap lighter plug-in inverter at most electronics stores.
