The Roadtrek sprinter DVD player has a screen display that can only be read by looking DOWN at the unit- pretty tough on the top shelf of the cabinet it's in. I moved mine to the lower shelf (cabinet floor) and now I can read the display.
The unit works well but is not at all intuitive. I almost tore it out to put in just a DVD player using a HDMI cable, but was convinced by others that it was OK (and it is).
We sometimes just pull the speaker system wire out of the headset plug jack of the TV and use the TV speakers for sound.

It should be shown in the owner's manual. IIRC, on my 2 non-Sprinter Roadtreks, it was one of the switches across the bottom of the tank indicator panel. The manual should detail how the switch & when you plug in are inter-related, if it's like older RT's.

We survived our Roadtrek trip to OHio with my dear grandson. We had a little inverter we bought at a truck stop. He was able to watch videos on the laptop and play games on the IPhone. The inverter kept everything charged. He rode in the front seat when his mom drove and slept in the back when he got tired. Love our Roadtrek. When it was time to come home, we drove straight back in 16 hours. The Roadtrek made it more comfortable and efficient.

I hope he was seat belted in when he was sleeping in the back. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be the safety police, but comments like that scare the heck out of me.

Yes, he had the seatbelt. However, traffic was "stop and go" on the WV Turnpike and I got up to get a drink and my daughter slammed on the brakes and I went flying. Huge bruise on my hip. Could have been worse, but it taught me a lesson.

Thanks for the reply. Yea, things can happen pretty fast sometimes, and when you least expect it.
What's really bad is when the driver gets up to get coffee.

Just a hearfelt suggestion for the next Roadtrek adventure. Lose the laptop and Iphone. Teach him how to use a map and navigate while on the road, play state license plates, plan a stop at an interesting roadside attraction, gift an inexpensive digital camera and appoint him the adventure's official photographer.

He had a "hand me down" digital camera, but learning to read a map is a great idea. Wish I had thought of it.
