Hi Folks - we have a 2002 Nissan Frontier 4x4 rated to pull 5000 lbs. We're looking to get out of our Class C due to its age, and want to get into something we can pull with the above-referenced truck.
What do you have? How long? What make and model and year? The newer the better for obvious reasons, and a slide is preferable.
Did you have to modify the truck at all? Any pointers and tips are appreciated.
Thank you!

97 ranger 4L. Rated to tow 5600lbs. Tow a 19' 5200 gvwr, 3500 dry tt. Tows OK, good for 5 hour or closer trips. Power merging and sway are the biggest issues. I keep it around 64 MPH to fight this. I'm looking to upgrade to a half ton though ( because the truck is so old).

See my sig for my rig. The Highlander has a 5K lb tow rating like your pickup. TT is 16' long, about 2500 lbs.

Towed a 22' TT @4050lbs loaded with an 06 Frontier V6 AT. Hated it. Moved to an 08 F150. Loved it. We live in Oregon so lots of mtn passes small and large. Frontier just wasn't enough truck for me. I would stay under 3500lbs and look for a TT with a lower frontal area.

I tow a 2010 Aljo M210 which is 4100lbs with my 08 Honda Ridgeline. Hills suck but I take my time and it does fine for me. I'll get a bigger truck sometime

I use to tow a 3200 lb empty weight 19' hybrid with an 02 Frontier crew cab V6. It struggled and didn't have much power, the engine also was very loud when reving. I live in a mainly flat area also. I traded the 02 for an 06 Frontier and it towed far better. It had more power and the truck towed it easily.

I towed this camper with a 2008 Frontier with the V6. I think it was rated to tow 6300.

I tow my old Sunline 17.5SB with an 03 Tundra SR5. The TT is around 3500 loaded and even though my truck has the 4.7 V8 and is rated to tow 6800 lbs I wouldn't want any more behind me. Does ok but I really feel that trailer, especially on hills.

Towing a Jayco Swift SLX 184bh with a similar Tacoma. 2800 lb dry, 3500 Gross, 20 ft long. Currently looking to upgrade the suspension on the Toyota, it is not designed for towing or load carrying, lots of bounce and roll. I definately would not want anything more behind this truck.
