Well we're wanting to get a half Electric coach, in that we definitely want a residential fridge, but prefer the gas cooktop and have it set up to hook the BBQ into the propane system with a quick connect, hate having to carry around small tanks of propane.
Also with the aqua hot I figure a 30 gallon tank of propane should easily last a year of fulltiming.
"...there are numerous examples of rigs catching fire..."
Yes, I suppose there are.
Just like there are numerous examples of;
People getting struck by lightning
People getting run over in a cross walk
People drowning in irrigation ditches (like the one that runs on two sides on my property)
People being injured in the hot pools in Yellowstone National park
People being gored by bison in Yellowstone
People falling off of cliffs in Glacier National Park
People colliding with 80,000 lb tractor/trailer rigs
ETC.
None of that has happened to me either. Should I be worried about all those things?
I think not. Seems to me paranoia lies in that direction!

Our 2012 Phaeton is not fully electic but I wish it was. I truly love my 22 cubic foot French door Kitchen Aid refrigerator with bottom pull out freezer. I can do REAL grocery shopping and it NEVER needs defrosting!! I hate the propane stove and never use it - I cook on a 2 burner electric stove, the convection oven and BBQ grill. All we use the propane for is hot water.
Love our all electric coach. Thought I would miss the lp but that's not the case. We boondock often at racetracks for three to ten days at a time and have no issues.
I will never own a coach with propane again.....I'm spoiled with the aqua hot and the quiet source of heat. I don't miss filling propane or packing up the motorhome when we run out while camping for extended periods, I love the endless hot water.....The huge residential fridge is a big bonus when shopping, no ice build up. ......the list goes on and on.

I guess everyone is different. We fill our coach's propane tank every May. It lasts for about a year - although we might top it up mid-summer when we find a convenient pump. Fair to say: We are not constantly concerned about finding propane fill-ups.
We have a couple of small 10 lb. cylinders for our outdoor stove. We bought them two years ago. I don't know how long they last since they haven't run out yet.
Like many things in life, there are tradeoffs. Having eight coach batteries sounds great. But weight is an concern. So is the galvanic corrosion of the metal components around the batteries. And then there is cost when the batteries eventually fail - ask a Tesla car owner who will get $40K battery bill every 10 years . Neither configuration is perfect.
Happy Trails.

And all of those examples have to deal with the decision to own or not own an all electric coach exactly how?
Very few people would choose a gas absorption fridge over a resd model if given a choice, in fact many people have removed their Norcold model and have installed a resd fridge not only for the convenience if offers but also because they became concerned with the fire safety recalls.
The option of owning an all electric coach is a personal choice, as I stated in a prior post I would never own a coach that was not all electric...
The cooktop is often the deciding factor for many people, for me it was an easy choice, my wife does not like the gas cooktop and prefers the flush mounted electric 2 burner touch control model, she grew up in a house that only had an electic stove/cooktop so that is what she learned to cook on and still prefers that way today. Items offered in an all electric coach like a Fisher/Paykel dishwasher, the Aqua-Hot hydronic water and heating system which offers unlimited hot showers and toastly warm tile floors thanks to the heated floors are a big plus.
And to the OP, if you are boondocking yes you will need to run the generator to charge your batteries from time to time in an all electric coach just like you would in a coach that is not all electric....You will find that if you are boondocking you will pretty much be running your generator anyway if needing the AC is an issue.

They all relate to the "fear factor", no more, no less.
"Very few people would choose a gas absorption fridge over a resd model if given a choice,..."
I suppose so, and I am one of them! In fact, I walked away from a very nice used Class C because somebody installed a residential frig in it.
"The option of owning an all electric coach is a personal choice,..."
Yes, it certainly IS, I have stated my opinion, and I have read nothing that will change my mind. Especially not the "fear factor".
Ok well this is my last post in this thread, but I must say there is an old saying that I think fits your style of thinking.... It goes as follows.....
You don't need a parachute to jump out of a plane, you only need one if you want to jump twice........
Fear factor, well if that is what you want to call it, be my guest....I think of it more as common sense....You know that Norcold has had fire issues, it has been stated many times....Why take a un-needed chance...
Just like tires, most people with common sense will replace them at that 6-7 year mark even if they look fine....Why? Because that is the industry standard...again common sense.....Are there people running tires much older then that everyday down the road...you bet...
Do they do it because they are fearless....I guess in your mind they are....me...I just call them foolish
