What is the best route from Cherokee, Maggie Valley, NC are yo Red Bay, Al.? Mapquest takes you over to Chattanooga, Tn. then to Huntsville, Al. then to Red Bay. Is this the best route and if so where is a Walmart around half way that allows overnite parking?

There is a section of US64 between Ducktown and Ocoee that is twisty. It is a US highway. Just pay attention to the curves and you should have no problems in the short Breeze. If you have the time and are a white water fan, I would suggest that you take a raft trip down the Ocoee.

That’s probably the best way. Only a short distance of US-74 is not 4 lanes. 2 places, along the Nantahala and Ocoee rivers. Most of the road from Russellville AL to Red Bay is 2 lane, and posted 45 MPH, construction zone. They are doing the earth moving and grading for what will be the east bound lanes

Thats the best route. You are gonna be passing the Lodge Cast Iron outlet in South Pittsburg TN on Hwy 72. Great store! There is a super nice state park just outside of Chattanooga for an over night stop. Cloudland Canyon in Trenton GA.

The route to Chattanooga from Cherokee is the one we are most concerned with. We are 34ft, plus towing and we do not have an e-brake!

There aren't any bad grades. The worst curves were along the Ocoee River. When they removed the rockslide debris 2 years ago TDOT also worked on straightening some of the worst corners
