How does one become a "life member?"
When I click on the "Join Now" button on the Good Sam Website all I am offered are 1 through 5 year membership plans. No "Life" plan offered.
Or do you have to learn the secret handshake before being deemed eligible for "lifetime" membership?
Hey-does anyone know when the Lifetime Membership thing started? I think I was a regular member for a few years before I upgraded but it was quite a while ago...
I became a Charter Life Member when they first issued said memberships and I think it was in the early 80s. Since I have been a member since the 60s except for a few years in Alaska, I think I got a deal with a life membership.

I like what I am seeing from this New Management Style.
After being a GS Member since becoming an RV'r in the 70's, this is the first time I am seriously looking at some of the Good Sam Member Benefits. i.e, GSERS, Insurance, even more use of Camping World (although CW Service has not gained my confidence, as yet. I have hopes for the future use of CW Service.
It is due to Marcus' Management Style.
A CEO's ability and willingness to have hands-on in resolving customer issues is a tangible and intangible value to company and customers.
Nothing Tops Good Customer Service,,,,,earning customer confidence is paramount in a company's success.

Also, for the first time I am looking at GS Chapters.
As a Life Member, I hope Marcus is successful. His actions give me Hope and Confidence for the future of my GS Life Membership, No matter when it terminates.

I wonder less about my lifetime membership and much more about what in the world my RV might look like in 2048!
I have to imagine that we may have a totally self contained and super insulated rig-with some sort of 0 loss heating and cooling system that captures the heat from our refrigeration, cooking, and waste decomposition to provide for our general energy needs as well as some sort of salt/hydrogen generator that helps to power our rig down the road.
Ahhhhh....only if us Gen-X'ers will be able to retire!
