My wife and i purchased a new trailer (finally!) from General RV in August of 2011. We decided to get a Lacrosse 308res, because of the opposing slideouts which opens the back end of the trailer up and i love the huge shower! We love the camper, but hate our selling dealer now! We have had our rig in 5 TIMES for a simple plumbing leak since we have owned it!! They also missed a galley valve not installed from he factory on the prep! After replacing the grey water valve on the second time in,when i brought it in the 3rd time they found the valve loose because it was not installed properly. on the third time in they caused another leak from the sewage outlet that it did not originally have. on the fourth time in, they finally fixed the original leak but didnt fix the leak out of the sewage outlet that they caused. The fifth time in,they replaced the black and grey valves and the sewage pipes. When i picked it up the fifth time in, we went in the back and they had all the tanks full. when we drained the tanks,it started leaking again!! i waited an hr and half while the technician pulled the black valve out that he just replaced and put another seal in that valve. turns out the technician didnt lube the seals when he installed the valve so it rolled the seal over. I will NEVER take my trailer back there, and will NEVER buy another trailer or product from that company again. The made me irritated enough where i created another facebook page (General Rv Sucks). If you have had problems with Genereal Rv, like my page and post what issues you have had! I'm doing everything i can to turn everybody that i can away from Geveral RV.

Since most of us don't have any idea where General RV is, it might be helpful to give us a hint. You might also want to post a review here: RV Service Reviews It sounds to me like the factory is in large part to blame.

General is a huge operation located in Mi, Ohio, Florida and Utah. They have many happy customers and many unhappy customers. My last few dealings that I have had with the Canton Ohio location has been very good.

I have been dealing with the Mt.Clemens location. I have yet to find a "happy" customer from the Mt.Clemens store. The factory did forget to install a galley valve. But the missing galley valve should have been caught on the prep. the technician was paid 4 hrs to prep my trailer. It is obvious if a valve is there or if it is not there. The original leak was caused by the factory, but should have been taken care of on the first time i took it in. Techs do make mistakes,so at the very least it should have been taken care of on the second trip in. Yes the factory made 2 mistakes, which could have been taken care of on the first trip (and on the prep). The other 4 trips BACK to General Rv were not neccessary. Come backs happen, but anything over 1 time back is not acceptable.

Whenever I see a new member with one post blasting a business I pay no attention to it. Some folks get easily frustrated and think going to a forum and berating a business or creating a clever demeaning Facebook page is an acceptable way of dealing with a problem. There are better and more effective ways. It is actually a good thing he is refusing to do any more business with them, after posting this stuff it is only going to get much worse trying to get them to do anything. I do not detect any anger toward the manufacturer who created the problem in the first place just the dealership. To me that is surprising.

Easily frustrated would be geting angry the second time back. Not the 5th time and still have to wait to have it repaired again on the spot. Service manager helped very little so why not let other people know about poor Service? Dealing with them since August and 6 repairs having money spent in fuel hauling it back and forth 3 out of the 5 times in, plus weeks missed of camping when we spent 30k on a new trailer is supposed to be acceptable? I have been more than patient with them.

I haven't dealt with service from General RV other than prep, but I just completed a purchase via their Draper, UT, store. Terry Bader was my sales person (he's in Michigan).
It was a very easy transaction with the exception that the trailer arrived at the Draper dealership several days late...which was a problem because it cut into spring break with my kids and I was driving 650 miles to pick it up (...the local dealership was playing the typical salesman-game of "come on down, waste 5 hours of your day and we'll see what we can do"...and the best they'd do was 20% more).
The delivery timing should have been managed better by General RV and it was very irritating at the time. But I'd buy from Terry and General RV again--everyone I dealt with was helpful and straightforward. The trailer was ready, the tech seemed to do a thorough job, the finance guy didn't beat me up trying to sell a bunch of extras, etc., etc.

I've heard the other General Rv Centers are not too bad. Its mainly the the Mt.Clemens location that has issues. I have talked to 4 people in my park alone that have taken theire trailer in for service there and were not happy. The sales staff was good, its the service department.
