Last summer we stayed at Hideaway RV Park in West Yellowstone. It's small park with FHU's and one of the cleanest restroom/showers I've ever seen. Less than a mile from the west entrance. Very reasonable rates. We didn't need much on site because all our time was spent in the park. Up at 5:15 am and in the park 'til dark. While in Grand Teton we stayed at Gros Ventre. Great trip.

Since you mentioned Mt Rushmore, if in that area I would recommend you spend a day or two in Custer State Park in SD. Although we were not camping, we loved the park.

Boy you are going to have fun I hope you have several weeks planned for that trip I have been to all those places but on quick trips I plan to go back to all of them when I have time to spend at least 2 weeks at each one of those places. I am hoping to do the black hills this summer. I agree with the rest you have to have reservations to get a place in Yellowstone.

I agree with most of the posters. You need 3 to 4 days minimum to see Yellowstone. We tried to do it on 3 days and we were always in a hurry and felt like we missed a lot. Ditto on staying in Yellowstone. We stayed at the KOA at West Yellowstone. Nice campground for a KOA and well maintained, WIFI and all that stuff if you're so interested.
You will love Yellowstone! Enjoy your vacation!

Enjoy your trip, you'll love it. Traffic in the park will probably be bad as others mentioned. We went 3 years ago in mid-June and had a great time. Stayed at a park just south of Yellowstone between Teton and Yellowstone, they had lots of room. Horseback riding too if you want, but basically a place to day-trip between Yellowstone and Grand Teton from.
We approached through ND Badlands, very pretty, and then the north entrance. We exited through the east entrance. The steep decline out made my DW nervous but I absolutely LOVED the view. In fact, after the decline, the Shoshonee (sp?) valley drive to Cody was some of the most beautiful country I've seen. From there drove to Devil Tower, Custer, Mt Rushmore, etc. Given you're taking a reverse route I don't think I'd recommend the east entrance climb, but you might look into it.
As others said, a week will go quickly between Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Jackson. Less time will just skim the surface and leave you looking forward to returning. I'm envious

You are going to have a great trip. Lots of folks have already given you tons of recommendations for where to stay and what to see so I have nothing to add there. I do have one word of routing caution. If you are going to go through Jackson Hole, Wy on your trip please beware of Teton Pass. It has a long 10 degree grade and its not unusual to see RVs parked on the side of that hill waiting for their transmissions to cool down.
Enjoy your travels!

If you don't need hook ups you can fit in Indian Creek , Madison, and if your really good at fitting in tight paces Norris. Norris is not on reservation and you need to get there early 7-8 to wait for a spot. If you love to watch wildlife you can't beat Yellowstone. My wife and I stop at Yellowstone almost every summer either going out on our trip or coming back. We may just be lucky but we never have made reservations. Both Yellowstone and the Tetons is a lot of driving to see the various sights. Maximize the wildlife sightings going out early and staying out until dusk is your best bet. Have a great trip.

I live in Utah and have been to all the parks that you have listed.
When driving through Northern Utah try not to hit morning or evening rush hour. The drive from Ogden through Provo takes a little more than an hour and a half. We always have major road construction in July on I-15, so with rush hour traffic you are probably looking at up to a 3 hr drive, and even worse on a Friday evening.
Like everyone said, make sure you have reservations for Yellowstone. I prefer staying in the Tetons myself.
You will need a reservation for Zions National Park as well. About ten years ago they shut the park down so that you have to use the parks shuttle bus system. This works OK except they allow bicycles on the road in the park. Many of them won't move for the shuttles so you end up sitting on a shuttle going 4 or 5 mph.
To enjoy Zions you need to get out of the car and hike. I think the shortest hike in the park is about a third of a mile or more. To enjoy Zions either plan on spending a few days, or pick a couple of hikes to do ahead of time. My favorite hike in Zions is Angels Landing. It's about 5 hours round trip, but worth every second.

WyoTraveler wrote: I wouldn't take the RV into the park unless you have reservations or just driving through. The previous post is correct where you would want to park and see different things would be hard to park an RV. Dubois or Jackson you would need reservations. Not sure there is a campground in Moran.
there is a campground close to Moran - advice, avoid it like the plague!
