I've been happy towing my 2004 Honda CRV for 65,000 miles. It's now time to get a new tow car (probably one of the 2012 CRVs). My tow rig has been the RoadMaster Falcon All-Terrain....it has treated us real good.
My question is whether or not it is wise to use this older hardware (with the likely exception being a new base plate for the car)for towing the new car. I live in Florida so Roadmaster servicing would be a problem.

Without know the condition of your existing tow bar this is a hard question to answer, Tow bars do have wear components and need to be periodically serviced. Also how they are stored when not in use is a factor.
I think I would be looking at what the shipping costs would be to have it serviced/rebuilt, or for a major rally or rv show where road master and blue ox often will be there to service towbars.
My tow bar has 98,500 miles on it pulling a heavier dinghy... It been rebuilt once and we are headed to blue ox this week to have it done again.

We're on our third motorhome and third tow car with the same Roadmaster tow bar. Had to get new base plates for each car change.

I installed our Roadmaster in 1995. I'm on our 3rd motorhome and everything is still in good shape. We have been full time since 1992.

If your towbar is performing well now, I see no reason to continue using it. I've had the same Blue Ox on 4 different toads, the last one for 7 years fulltime. I did have it tuned up in Quartzsite twice in the last few years just for the piece of mind.
Roadmaster is a quality product and you should be able to put your trust in it.
