It all sounds great but I bet its a lead balloon. FIL got a CNG car some years back and not only was the fuel hard to get, but kids on skateboards were faster.
Good side is they can also burn gasoline and that small pump for home would be really nice. I wish em luck though. Heck just thought of it, I don't have NG at the stick house

If you get one Rick, you ARE going to pay road tax arn't you? Or do you just never take your truck on road?

good for fleets that come 'home' every night.
more power to em ,the more change over the more price pressure on diesel.

I ran a whole FLEET of CNG powered trucks (some of them Chevy) about 15 years ago. Problem with them then as well as now is the infrastructure. Just no place to fuel them. You certainly notice a big drop off in power but that can be compensated for by hauling less weight.

We had a CNG fleet at work and the fuel is hard to find and the trucks (pickups mostly) had no range. Some got less than 150 miles before running out.

I had no idea that the conversion cost was nearly that high! I guess I was expecting the conversion cost to be less than $3,000.

Dang, I don't want to order one this spring and wait until end of year to get it! That's ridiculous. Maybe Dodge will be better...

I'll just take the fifth (not bottle) on that one. Seems to work really well in DC. JFYI I went to the dump on Monday with 1 month of the good smelling stuff, filled up the box. Still had 3/4 tank from October , got to love the mileage of the Cummins.

Last I heard, Utah had the most refueling stations. We had a fleet of them at work, although they pretty much got rid of most of them now. The conversions seemed to lack power, while the factory built trucks didn't seem to have any drawbacks in that respect. The only real downside I noticed was the tanks were huge for the relatively short range the vehicles had.
