When I asked...which was a couple years ago...Direct said if you changed your installation addy they changed everything in your account. I don't know if that's changed or not. That said, changing your installation addy only changes their internal stuff. Changing it on your screen will only get you the proper coordinates to aim your dish. It will not get you other channels.....Dennis

Yup When out of your local area call DTV with your CG address and they will switch you to those locals.

In reply to: JoeGood988, I just went online to the DirecTV website into my account and there is a billing address and an "installation address". There is no way to change the installation address without calling DirecTV and initiating a move. There is a "Move?" button underneath the installation address. When you press the button, the instructions say to call DirecTV. Can you tell us where the service address is located and how to change it? thanks

I would have the same question as to the "service address" change on the internet. I've changed service locations a couple of times in the last several years and it always had to be done by phone with Diretv.

Than you for all the replies, since I am in Southern AZ and can at least still get the Nuggets and Rockies I guess I'll survive with out any local channels. The bad part with the mountains in the way I can't pick up the locals even on the MH antenna.

Sounds like you're confused. Local Over The Air (OTA) channels are transmitted from a nearby television transmission tower, OK blocked by the mountains for you. DTV locals come from the satellite. Apparently you can get DTV. Call DTV and get the AZ locals - No it will not be the CO DTV locals but you'll get the major network channels.

Every winter when we arrive in Arizona, I call the DTV moving department and they change my location from Illinois to my address in Phoenix and I get all the Phoenix local channels. Once I return home in the spring I call again and change back to my Illinois address. Each change takes no more than five minutes.

Even with the change I believe he would not be able to watch his "Nuggets and Rockies" play unless he has the NBA/MLB packages. I believe those games are also considered local (these are probably in the 600 channel range). Good news is he can watch the Suns, Diamondbacks and the Coyotes

Man, DirecTV told us we could NOT get FL local channels unless we got a second contract for FL.
